Success for Pegasus Trampoline Club! The first Pegasus Open competition was held in Ipswich on 14th June 2009, with 70 competitors from trampoline clubs across Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. Pegasus entered 14 club members into this competition First to compete for Pegasus were the youngest competitors of the day, in the under 7 grade I: 5 year olds Ella and Connor Houston, and 4 year old Makenna Williams. The three finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in their first ever competition, and also won the team event in that grade! In the under 11 I grade were first-time competitors: 6 year old Davina Farrow, 7 year old Kayti Austin-Thomas, and 8 year old Niamh Lynch, and 9 year old Emma Farrow. The girls completed 2 superb routines each to finish: Davina 2nd, Niamh 5th, Emma 6th and Kayti 7th - they also won the team event! Next up were the under 13 grade H, with 9 year old Ellen Prior competing against children older than herself. Ellen was totally on form for her set and voluntary routines, and was awarded the highest scores of the day to take a well deserved 1st place! In the under 13 G grade were 10 year olds Sian Watson and Joshua Austin-Thomas. Josh competed well in a strong group to finish 6th, and Sian put in the performance of lifetime to take 1st place! In the under 15 G grade, 13 year old Jenna Milne was up against an experienced group. In only her 3rd ever competition, she performed two extremely strong routines to win her 1st place! The last group of the day was the under and over 15 grade F. The team of Lucy Bevan, Shelby Skeggs and Katie Winwood looked strong from the start: Individually their superb routines placed 11 year old Lucy in 1st, 12 year old Shelby in 2nd, Katie in 6th, and also ensured them 1st place team medals! |
